Gamers and Enthusiasts Enjoy Overclocking Workshops plus Ambient and Extreme Contests at the Campus Party, Sao Paulo
[Press Release] February 16th, 2017 – HWBOT, an organization regulating international overclocking competitions and rankings, successfully wrapped up HWBOT World Tour 2017 stop at Campus Party Brazil in Sao Paulo, one of the biggest LAN parties in Latin America.
The event was organized with support of premium partner Seasonic and event partners GIGABYTE Brazil and HyperX, who provided suitable hardware. Over 150 newcomers attended Overclocking Workshops and applied what they had learned in ambient competitions, while the best Overclockers from Latin America went head to head in the Extreme Overclocking contest.
“Building on the success of our previous visit to Latin America, we managed to reach more gamers and PC enthusiasts than ever before,” commented Pieter-Jan Plaisier, Director at HWBOT. “In terms of educating and informing Campus Party attendees about the world of Overclocking, the event truly excelled beyond our expectations.”
HWBOT World Tour – Sao Paulo 2017
The HWBOT World Tour 2017 is organized by HWBOT, the world’s leading platform for competitive overclocking whose mission includes evangelizing and promoting overclocking on a global level. Campus Party Sao Paulo has been a staple event for the HWBOT World Tour for years and in 2017 it is again a vital element in spreading the word of Overclocking in Latin America.
More Workshop Attendees Than Ever in Latin America
A key aspect of the HWBOT World Tour is to introduce gamers and event attendees to the world of Overclocking. Each HWBOT World Tour event includes workshops where experienced Overclockers show newcomers the basic skills needed to Overclock a PC and try it for themselves. Scores are shared on the dedicated OC-ESPORTS competition website, a project by HWBOT to compare competitive overclocking results. New participants can compete in Ambient Tournament with hardware prizes from event partners for the winners.
This year the Sao Paulo event saw more Campus Party attendees join the Overclocking workshops than ever before in Latin America. Over 150 rookies joined the HWBOT community and posted scores to the OC-ESPORTS website, competing in the Sao Paulo Ambient Tournament.
Overclocking World Championship – Sao Paulo 2017 Qualifier
All HWBOT World Tour events include a World Championship Qualifier contest where the winner gets a ticket to the World Championship Final at the end of the year. This year a hard-fought contest between several of Latin America’s most talented Overclockers ended with a final between Brazil’s No.1 ‘Darkvenom’ and last year’s winner ‘PXHX’. At the end of a 30 minute 1v1 contest, ‘PXHX’ (far left) was again crowned Champion of Latin America.
The HWBOT World Tour 2017
HWBOT World Tour 2017 will be the largest to date, building on the success of previous World Tours. The first World Tour in 2015 involved events in three countries around the world. This was expanded in 2016 to a total of seven stops spanning five continents across the globe. In 2017 HWBOT plans eleven World Tour events, reaching more PC gamers, enthusiasts and overclockers than ever before.
